A PERSONAL APPEAL FROM OUR FOUNDER - ROBERT A. BOLEYN
Dear Reader,
Today I am going to do something I never dreamed necessary, and which runs counter to every belief I hold where it pertains to the use and continuing viability of this site. I'm going to ask you to support e-Scension.com with a financial donation.
This might sound unusual: After nearly 5 years of service, and a continued ad campaign marketing the "free" nature of our site, why ask for financial support from its users now?
Quite frankly, necessity demands it.
We're not like our competitors. We don't do things like them, nor do we ever intend to do so. But in tough economic times, business-sense demands we recognize the reality of the tight financial markets. And in those markets, it's time to tighten our belts.
As you've probably already noticed, in the last several days, we've come back strong with exciting new offerings and features (all of which can be found in our Me-Scension pages for registered members) But those features, while all powered by Google, don't come free. Nor does the time and effort required by our small, but diligent group of staff and Associate Producers. And while our annual expenses quite literally hover below $20,000, we still can't do it alone. Not if we ever expect to honor your loyalty and commitment with continued improvements to our services.
Your donation helps us in several ways. Most importantly, you will help us cover the increasing cost of managing global traffic, while also helping improve the back-end platforms that power our site and growth.
We've never been more committed than now to continuing to grow the market place, and allow for an unrestricted inclusion of all those who have a dream, regardless of financial, geographical, or ideological barriers. That's why I started this site. And it's why we're determined to keep on going, even in the face of tremendous challenges. Some real, and let's face it many artificially erected to ensure our demise. But as the late, great Mark Twain once opined when asked of his continuing success in the face of tremendous challenge: "The rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated."
And so, I invite you to join our campaign to move the entertainment industry into the new world where it belongs. We're committed, and we've been here through the thick and thin of it. Now it's up to you, the users and the dreamers of our community.
When I was a young man I belonged to the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Our motto still rings in my ears today. And I ask you to help us realize it for all those yet to realize their own dreams.
Finis Coronat Opus!
"The End Crowns the Work!"
In unity,
