By blunt-force, I mean more out-and-out horror or what have you. My project Eclipse has a bite as mean as 28 Days Later, and far more disorienting - and there's no reversal of that. For me, the story is the point. I just have a fascination with characters exploring those kinds of issues - for me, even when a message seems clear, there's really no message. Some stories just seem worth telling, is all it is.
Although there was no screenplay, our subsidiary, Graphissimo, just published a graphic novel last month by putting together all the storyboard drawings from a Hollywood storyboard artist who created the art in his spare time.
We still have no screenplay, but I have three low-budget independent producers interested in filmming the story and I'm trying to tie one of them down (whoever makes the best offer)before the end of the summer. We hope to start shooting in September.
I'm a great believer in storyboards. I really feel that almost every film project is a lot better when you use them. I'd love to see some of your panels. Do you have any work online or can you send me some jpgs? cdigitalv@optonline.net
My ex-students provide me with a lot of panels and character designs. Some of them do superb work. They have worked for Marvel, DC, Disney, Dreamworks and Hanna Barbera. I'll send you some additional info and images once I receive your e-mail.
I just got befriended by Bernardo, and saw on his wall that you're a filmmaker with spiritual interests - is that right? All my stories are about revealing worlds by weaving narratives through them, and the ones I'm hanging onto for production, and distribution are the ones that demand a bit more faith. Some of those read as blunt-force genre, but even in those, the environmental or human allegory is probably not too subtle.
Now that I'm retired, I'm working fourteen hour days. I network with people and help them do what they want to do. I'm looking to work with anyone who can help us push our projects ahead and if you have a worthwhile project(s), I'll help to push your project(s) ahead. It's a two way street and anything is possible. What do you do? What do you really want to do?
I do not do any work and I do not fund projects. I'm a producer. I coordinate human resources to make things happen and that takes my whole day.
I'm always looking for new projects to work with or help develop. I help set up production groups and assist them to produce live action and animated films, TV shows and web serials.
New media has made low-cost production the norm. Anyone and everyone who can afford a high-def camcorder is making films. I help them to make excellent films. I'm assembling a slate of 100 top quality projects with high production value and I'm always looking for more innovative properties. I actively seek collaborations and partnerships.
I'm having the time of my life blogging about independent cinema and new media (www.myfilm.com), writing stories and turning them into screenplays, publishing books & graphic novels (www.lulu.com/cdigitalv) and currently producing films.
In 2001, I partnered with Simona Lyriti, a super art and animation director in Athens, Greece and we formed our studio, LYLOFILM PRODUCTIONS. Lylofilm creates digital low-cost high-quality 2D and 3D animation (www.lylofilm.com) and live-action films with animation (www.clipblox.com).
Our studio has grown and we now release our books and films through Graphissimo Entertainment. We're winning awards at Film Festivals and our work is seen ny millions. I'm happy to know that I had a vital part in all these projects.
We specialize in and developing Screenplays, Character Design, Storyboards, Advertising Design, Graphic Arts, Music Videos, Posters, Movie Titles, Web Sites, CGI and providing Special Effects for Independent filmmakers.
We always need creative minds, artists in any field, partners, collaborators and assistance planning, making and distributing our finished films.
